I’m a nonfiction author, narrative journalist and brand consultant. I’ve written for the New York Times Magazine, Salon and Los Angeles Magazine. My book Rejuvenile: Kickball, Cartoons, Cupcakes and the Reinvention of the American Grown-Up was published in 2006 by Crown/Random House.

I’ve covered everything from L.A. politics to ultraconservative Christians to the inner workings of the TV industry. In general, I write about the media and the way people respond to it. Lately I’ve been having a lot of fun speaking about my book, working with Fortune 500 companies attempting to understand the rejuvenile market, and writing a parenting column for Reuters.

Come on in and have look around. And feel free to drop me a message.

Is my son a dick, or is he two?

I’ve been silenced! My respectable editors at Reuters declined to distribute this week’s column, saying that sex and/or bodily functions are forbidden topics. Read what the wire service overlords want to keep from you!
